In this project, which transforms the resilient and determined nature of sport into a social benefit, ultra-marathon runners Bakiye Duran and Bilal Gül ran the challenging course on Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania to draw attention to the education of children in the earthquake-affected region. At the conclusion of this awareness-raising journey, the team met with children affected by the earthquake in Kurucuova, Malatya, and distributed basic educational materials, hygiene kits and sports equipment to over 150 students. The project aims to boost the children’s morale and motivation through the athletes’ inspiring stories, and to instil a spirit of resilience in the face of adversity.
